Brigitte nerfs headline the changes included in the Overwatch patch released Tuesday that also targeted several other heroes for adjustments and added competitive play queues.
Brigitte’s Repair Pack no longer grants an additional armor health pool, and her Barrier Shield has had its maximum health reduced from 200 to 250, its cooldown when destroyed upped from three seconds to five, and its regeneration rate decreased from 100 health per second to 85.

“Granting additional maximum health is a powerful ability and has proven too effective when combined with the additional healing of Repair Pack,” Blizzard wrote in a developer comment on the change. “Brigitte’s barrier will now provide more protection up front, enabling her to withstand more directed fire, but will also have a longer downtime if it is destroyed.”
Ashe also received a small nerf, while D.Va received buffs and Junkrat saw quality of life improvements. See the full list of Overwatch hero changes below.
Competitive queues starting with Season 23 now be split in two, one with role queue and one without. Each will have its own skill rating (SR) and leaderboard.
Meanwhile, the maximum SR earned after placements has been capped at 3,900. Players will still be matched with others of the same skill, and players will be able to raise their SR over the course of the season as normal.
This change is meant to reward players for staying active over the course of the season without penalizing them for not playing enough.
