Big changes to Fortnite look to be just around the corner, according to a recent leak.
A completed version of the mysterious Doomsday Device, which has been in the background of Midas’ room for a few weeks, was discovered by infamous Fortnite leaker “FortTory” after he spent hours glitching Fortnite’s menu. The new device is lit differently and appears to be functioning, as smoke is coming out of the top.
The purpose of the Doomsday Device is unclear, but it is expected to play a large role in Season 3, which begins on June 4. Early teasers for the new season point to an underwater theme, so it is possible that the Doomsday Device could flood the map.

The second part of the leak relates to the upcoming Storm the Agency Challenge, although not much information has been revealed. Players need to collect three of the gold bars that are laying on the floor around Midas’ room to be used later on in the challenge.
So far, it is unclear as to what purpose the gold bars serve or what role they will play in the challenge, but they are clearly meaningful.
Fortnite now has over 350 million registered players! In April, players spent over 3.2 billion hours in game. ??

Both the gold bars and the Doomsday Device are more attempts by Epic Games to grow the game with outside-of-the-box ideas, such as the Travis Scott and Diplo concerts or the upcoming Fortnite: Party Royale concert on May 8. Given how popular these events have become, more surprises are certainly in store for Season 3.
